Foster a pet or donate — help us give Yuma County pets a second chance

Formerly known as Sonja, Etienne Camille — Eti for short — has blossomed into a happy, confident girl in her loving new home. Once scared, shut down, and in need of patient care, she now runs, plays, and embraces life with a beautiful new spirit. Her story is a powerful reminder of what safety, love, and a second chance can do.
At the Humane Society of Yuma, she was known as Sonja. Today, she is Eti — Etienne Camille — a cherished family member with a new name and a future full of love. Her adoption gave her the chance to leave fear behind and begin again.
One of the sweetest signs of Eti’s transformation is how she responds when her adopter calls her name. She comes running around the corner, knowing that she is wanted, safe, and finally home. Each happy moment shows the trust she has built with her family.
Eti’s journey proves that every adoption matters. From a frightened shelter dog to a joyful, loved companion, she is living proof that patience and compassion can change a life. Her happy ending is exactly why rescue work and responsible adoption matter so much.
